Ah, it’s that jingly time of the year again. Are you ready? I’m not!
This month it’s our Christmas party and it’s a Jacob’s Join so please bring along a dish to share – either sweet or savoury, it’s entirely up to you. We’re providing alcoholic and non-alcoholic fizz and there will be quizzes, games and hopefully much merriment. If you remember, bring a pen and paper. Dressing up is entirely optional but I shall be putting on my glad rags and of course, a new hat!
We’re also doing our annual food collection for the Todmorden foodbank so please bring along jars, tins or packets of food or other useful items like toiletries and sanitary products. Items should be unopened, undamaged and within the sell-by date. If you’re not sure what to donate, I found a couple of suggestion lists here:

If you can manage it, please do consider throwing in a luxury item like chocolate, cake or biscuits. Being poor and hungry is doubly painful when surrounded by the excess of Christmas and a small treat can make a huge difference to someone’s morale when they’re struggling.
Doors open at 7pm on Monday 15th and the meeting starts at 7.30. Oh, and we’ve reduced our fees for visitors after researching what other WI’s were charging – from now on, it will only cost £3 to visit. Total bargain!
I hope to see you all at the party but if I don’t, have a happy Christmas and a good New Year.
Kirsty
P.S. I know you’re probably frantically busy with your Christmas crafting but don’t forget that our deadline for making scarves and hats for SmartMove is January 19th.
