Invite: Printmaking at The Egg Factory

Hello my lovelies,

this will be brief because I am in the middle of packing to go to Tea & Tents, the unofficial WI camping trip, which is happening this weekend. 530 WI women in a field in Nottinghamshire with lots of booze and cake – what could possibly go wrong!

This month’s meeting is on Monday 20th July. The doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and visitors are welcome for our usual charge of £3.

The most important thing to remember is that Monday’s meeting is NOT in our usual venue.  Instead, we will be visiting The Egg Factory at Windsor Works Adjacent Unit, Victoria Road, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8JX.

To get there from the Town Hall, you go along Valley Road past the doctors on your left and the garage on your right, then turn left onto Victoria Road and go past Little Park and the new sheltered accommodation. Carry on along Victoria Road and The Egg Factory is a little further along on the left in the small industrial estate. There is plenty of parking at the venue.

We will be getting a short tour of their new facilities and an explanation of their co-working project before having a go at some mono-printing and screen-printing. Since we’ll be playing with ink, it’s probably smart to wear older clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Other July Events

Picnic in the Park
Sunday 19th July 1-3pm

Come along to an informal, family-friendly event in Calder Holmes Park (that’s the big park near the station). Everyone welcome, including non-members, family, friends and pets. Please bring your own food and drink, blankets to sit on and any games you fancy playing.

P.S. If the weather is awful, this event will obviously be cancelled.

Book Group
Monday 27th July 7.30pm

Book group is on 27th July at 7.30pm in the Old Gate pub. Bring a book or several to review and swap. It’s a free event but we always buy our own drinks and food if we want it.

I hope to see you all on Monday, although goodness knows what sort of state I will be in after my wild weekend. Did I mention that I haven’t been camping in a decade? Never let it be said that the WI doesn’t encourage you to stretch yourself!

Right, I’d better get back to my packing…
